I created a Digital Garden

A space curated with my study notes on anatomy for artists and other artistic explorations.

If you've followed my projects, you'll know I've experimented with the idea of a digital garden before. My first attempt at a "curated wiki on 3D modeling and art" sadly never quite grew into what I had envisioned.

This year, after more personal web experiments, I decided to restructure everything.

What is a Digital Garden?

For those unfamiliar, a digital garden is a collection of thoughts and ideas, often focused on personal interests or studies. It's a blend between a digital notebook and a public blog, with content that cultivates and grows over time, like a seed planted in a garden.

Unlike a traditional blog (like this one), which typically follows a linear, chronological structure, a digital garden uses non-linear connections. It links related notes together to form an interconnected web of thoughts.

For a deeper dive into the topic, I highly recommend Maggie Appleton's essay, "A Brief History & Ethos of the Digital Garden."

A New Garden (And a New Approach)

After my first idea for a garden and a variety of web experiments this year, I decided to restructure my approach and split it into two separate spaces:

The first is my 'new' digital garden, a looser extension of this blog and my website as a whole, with entries being posted on anything that crosses my mind, but mostly focused on my interests. This includes notes on anatomy for artists, photography, clay sculpting and documentations on works in progress and other artistic explorations. It's a more personal refuge with no requirements attached to it.

The second page is yet to be announced, but will take on the role of the curated wiki on 3D modeling and art. It's designed to be a dictionary on anything 3D, meant to be a helpful resource for those interested in walking the same path.

Both are built using Obsidian Publish. You can read more about the technical setup on my digital garden's "Behind the Garden" page.

Come and Visit!

If you're curious, you can visit my digital garden here:

I also added a guestbook to it; feel free to leave a message!

It's still in its early stages and will certainly change and grow over time. But that's the beauty of it; the garden evolves with the gardener.

You might also notice callouts at the top of some future blog posts here, linking to extended thoughts or related notes in the garden. It's a way to connect the more polished blog with the wilder garden. In fact, some entries in my digital garden might expand on ideas first posted here (or vice versa). You can see an example of this callout at the very top of this blog post, which links directly to the garden's homepage.
